We’ve Added a Reader!
My husband and I love to read. Fiction or non-fiction, we’re usually reading something. The same goes for reading with our kids. Starting even before they turned a year old, we always believed in reading to them nightly. It is a deeply embedded part of our bedtime routine. And now, it is paying off…
Cooper is reading like a maniac! We are so poud of him! Just before Christmas, he started reading a series of chapter books. Now, he will even read on his own. We have recently found him first thing in the morning, sitting in bed, reading to himself! And he isn’t even moving his lips - he is reading it in his head!! It amazes me!! He is only in the first grade (though he is a little older than most of the kids in his class). He is so proud of himself. And he should be. It is such a rewarding part of parenting when you see your investments pay off. We are all happily reaping the benefits! Way to go, Coop!
